UPFRONT MODELS SINGAPORE - Final Email

Ok I've had just about enough of this Ewan. You need to just admit your carelessness and indifference towards your models. I won't be deterred by any type of threat that you have the audacity to throw at me... after all I'm not the one who cannot admit his own foolish mistakes. So, I'll go over this again for you so you can be clear when sending out your 'letter' to agencies, clients, etc about MY unprofessional behaviour that I will actively defend my self against your unfounded claims... And I'll use THIS letter for my defense.

No models with a bad attitude or bad work ethic has had the type of long international career I have had thus far, and you know that. It would be impossible.

1. My first week in the apartment everyone was sick and Watson told me it was just smoke from fires burning abroad and landing on Singapore. But After I went out and bought disinfectant DETTOL (THere was none provided in your maid-serviced apartment), and cleaned out the Air cons (3mm thick dust layer stuck inside of every air conn) everyone magically became healthy again. No more coughs, and no more green flem in the morning.

2. You told us there was a maid service for the apartment, but none of us has ever actually seen a maid inside the apartment. And the shower looked as if it had not been cleaned for literally months. We thought it was permanent grunge, yet after buying shower cleaner and spraying it on the shower we found that it just needed to be cleaned... to top it off I found receipts under our beds from 2006!! So if you do actually have a maid, you certainly haven't been cleaning the rooms for each new incoming TENANT. Remember when I ask ed you in the agency, "Hey Ewan does the same maid that cleans Upfront office also clean the models apartments?" Because the difference is so blatantly noticeable.

3. I say Tenant because you regulary keep up to SEVEN (at one point EIGHT of us) models in a 3 bedroom apartment, yet you still manage to collect 5,600 plus extras for stuff like air con, water etc for which you won't even show us the bills to prove that they are higher than "normal." I found the market value if Llyod apts to be around 2500, less than HALF what you currently charge us. And for the Killeney Apartments it's even WORSE... the place is up for condemning on Dec 31st of this year... half the building is already empty, and the light fixtures are bad or even non existent. Now I am happily living in the MASTER Bedroom with ensuite Bathroom of a three bedroom place for 1000/mo by myself. Stop taking advantage of the models' stupidity and traveling situation for making money and focus on making money with them through modeling...not through being an unscupulous landlord.

4. And if you are going to be a landlord, than by golly act like one. I was befuddled when we received your fax threatening to charge all the models for the broken sink. Especially since it had been broken since BEFORE I ARRIVED. And the funny thing is none of you or your staff (rebecca and the phantom 'Maid') ever even noticed the broken sink for over a month! The only reason you saw it was because, of course, the laundry machine also died during my stay in your lovely model's apartment. Were you going to threaten to charge us for that, TOO? SO we all dealt with it...for a WEEK with no laundry machine...

******************** I STARTED WRITING THIS YESTERDAY (Monday night actually) ... but screw my further points 5-10. Let's just finish this. You are wasting my positive energy now. I just tried to get my statement from Bernard at upfront today...and he said it was cool earlier... then he just ignored me the whole day until I texted him. Now he says his hands are tied.... and I know it's because Ewan is a scared little man... I figured out about the Ministry of Manpower here in Singapore.... and every contact that I have with YOU (EMMANUELLE), and YOU (EWAN) will be documented for my own personal protection from here on out. This is ridiculous as I have not heard from either of you, except to hear your complaints....Emmanuelle you have no clue what you are speaking about....and Ewan you are fanning a fire that,TRUST ME, you don't want to continue burning. I don't take too well to threats Ewan, and you should have known that very fact the day you said "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPLY Christopher??" just before you hung up on me that fateful Wednesday afternoon.... Sooooo I have written to both you (Ewan) and your boyfriend/lover WATSON several times today on the phone (i'm saving those texts as well), and STILL I AM GETTING NO REPLY.... So don't ever mention Professionalism to me or any other model again... I am not resentful like you think...I'm just angry at your accusations, suprised by your extremely cocky attitude, and running out of patience with your cowardly avoidance to finish this business matter off efficiently and professionally.

When can I return your model book and 120 SGD and get a copy of my LEGITIMATE STATEMENT? And don't worry about doctoring my statement up to look legitimate... I have already gotten promisses from several upfront models to receive copies of their statements IF AND WHEN THEY RECEIVE THEM. You wanted to act foolishly.... well keep it up. I will do my best to exploit your inhumane business practices. Send your letters out to other agencies, clients, etc....rant and rave, make me sound like the end of the world... BUt I promiss you the TRUTH always prevails. And from What I have learrned so far about you and Upfront, I have more and more confidence that I can bring you down in the proper manner.

BTW, it was one of YOUR CLIENTS, who directed me to go to the Ministry of Manpower...so when You never hear from them again you can figure out who it was that gave me such invaluable information. Boy, actions sure do speak louder than WORDS! I'm a good person at heart....but I will always fight for the rights of the undervoiced, underpriviledged, and overexploited. Even at my OWN PERSONAL EXPENSE...YOU REMEMBER THAT, buddy. Have a nice day and tell Watson to contact me, or forever hold your peace and stop harrassing Emmanuelle about LEGAL ACTION...

You don't have the balls to fight legally for anything, who are you kidding? This is the last you will hear from me, if you stop this BS RIGHT NOW... so good day.

First Blog

Yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful day in Singapore... Started out by meeting up with a possible future landlord. His apartment was nice, clean, and most importantly PROPERLY FURNISHED!! And when compared to the model apartments I was staying in a month ago.... this new place is like a taste of Paradise. Clean Air Conditioners, pot and pans that still have their teflon coating on them, a Washing machine that actually WORKS - and 3 bedrooms for TWO people instead of Three bedrooms for SEVEN PEOPLE!! And all for just 200 SGD more than I was paying in the model apartment... And it's near Little India, the only completely 24 hours spot in Singapore. nice!!!!

After that meeting (the landlord gave me a ride back to my friend's nice new and expessive apartment) my friend and her bf took me to a birthday party on Sentosa Island.... what a nice place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! I don't care what haters say about the fact that's it's an all man made beach.... it's still nice no matter what.... My california heart remains at the beach even when I am not there! I met some really chilled out people and one Indian guy who was from Japan. Very interesting fellow, and also met a cool couple that play ultimate and who lives near the primary jungle on the outskirts of town... Afterwards we all joined up at Newton Circus for some Traditional Singaporean food. I finally tried the Sting Ray and it was very good... I also tried Sugar Cane juice, which was a bit TOO sweet for my liking, even after the lime juice is added. We all feasted on Chicken Wings, Oyster Omelettes, Kang Kong (Tong Choi), Clams, Chicken and pork Skewers, and a few others dishes that I didn't get a chance to identify. We ended with a platter of fresh fruit, yummy! It was all very good indeed.

I came back to my friend's house where I am staying, and I was really happy to have finally met her boyfriend on this beautiful Sunday. We chatted together a bit before bed, and I shared with him some of my crazy MALE MODEL LIFE stories... he was fascinated by most of it... and other bits (mostly the complaints about the industry) he was already aware of because of his wonderful model girlfriend. He told me I should write a book describing my experiences and challenges of living life as a heterosexual male model... and So in honor of that suggestions I have decided to start a blog. I am thinking that if I write it here on the computer I will be able to write in more detail (before my hand gives way to pain)... in addition to gauging

the amount of public interest about the subject matter.

So... I am A MALE MODEL since 2001. I am STRAIGHT. And I work in a world predominantly full of stuck-up fahionistas, HOT YOUNG WOMEN, overly AGRESSIVE GAY MEN, and unscupulous and most times very deceitful Model Bookers and Talent Managers. The things I have seen and experienced should be more than enough to scare any right-minded parent into protecting there beautiful young son or daughter from the dangers of this COMPLETELY unregulated industry.

When I make a book out of all if this, my biggest wish is that it will create enough of a stir, WORLDWIDE, to get more funding and support for Model Unions to be established in EVERY COUNTRY... I will put my money where my mouth is when and if this happens BECAUSE Weird and Crazy things are happening every day in my industry...If you only KNEW!
